This year's Melbourne International Film Festival dates are 2 – 19 August,
2018. Make sure MIFF is part of your calendar for 2018!

The MIFF 2018 School Program was launched at the MLTAV Conference on
Friday 4 May by Kate Fitzpatrick!

MLTAV Member Schools can make a booking to take students to see one of the
films in the 2018 Schools Program AT A REDUCED RATE of $9.50 per student
(GST free) with 1 teacher per 10 students FREE. The usual rate is $12.50.

This year the program was chosen, by MIFF, with a view to presenting
high-quality, diverse films in some of the languages commonly taught in
Victorian schools: French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese,
Mandarin, Spanish and English.

Melbourne International Film Festival - FREE TEACHER WEBINARS with A
CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION!!

MIFF, in partnership with the Modern Language Teachers' Association of
Victoria (MLTAV), will present eight FREE webinars for teachers during
term 2 of 2018.

The webinars are designed to demonstrate to teachers how to work with each
of the MIFF Schools films in the classroom, before and after viewing them
as part of the MIFF program. Each webinar will comprise: a 20-minute
presentation by a film analysis specialist a 20-minute presentation by a
language specialist (linking the film to the Victorian Curriculum), as
well as 20 minutes for questions. MLTAV will provide Certificates of
Participation to recognise Professional Learning (PL) for all teachers who
participate in the live webinars, as well as those who later access and
engage with the archived versions.

This Professional Learning evidence can be used to contribute to the PL
requirements for teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of
Teaching. The webinars are FREE and participating teachers who wish to
view them live and interact with the presenters will simply need to have 
the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your devices and access to the internet. certificate of participation for one-hour of PL time to contribute towards
your PL re-registration requirements with VIT:
