Keynote Speaker: Dr. Tedd Gott, Senior Curator, International Art, National Gallery of Victoria. 

About Ted: Dr. Ted Gott is  Senior Curator of International ARt at the National Gallery of Victoria. After studying at the University of Melbourne, the British Museum, Northwestern University and the Art Institute of Chicago, he worked at the Robert Holmes-a-Court Collection, Heide Museum of Modern Art and the National Galler of Australia. He has curated and co-curated 25 exhibitions, including The Impressionists: Masterpieces from the Musee d'Orsay (2004), Kiss of the Beast: From Paris Salon to King Kong (2005), Modern Britain 1900-1960 (2007), Salvador Dali: Liquid Desire (2009), Napoleon: Revolution to Empirt (2012), Masterpieces from the Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great (2015), Degas: A New Vision and is currently curating Van Gogh and the seasons.

Conference Registration Fees - MLTAV is pleased to announce that the cost of attending the 2017 Annual Conference has been kept the same as last year! Registrations fees for the 2017 Conference are as follows:

  • Early-Bird Rate (up to 18 March): $200 (inc. GST)
  • Normal Rate (after 18 March): $230 (inc. GST)
  • Non-Member Rate: $350 (inc. GST)
  • 100 km from Melbourne CBD regional Government school teacher support (funding support provided by DET): $134
  • Student / Unemployed: $135
  • Presenter registration is covered by MLTAV

 

MLTAV 70th Platinum Anniversary Award Celebration Dinner - REGISTER NOW!

The MLTAV will also be celebrating its 70th Anniversary Awards Dinner on the evening of the Annual Conference - Friday 5 May 2017 - 6pm to 10pm - at the same venue (Catholic Leadership Centre, East Melbourne)

Please consider registering to attend this significant milestone for the Association and join in the Celebrations with the current MLTAV Committee, Life Members, past Committee Members, Colleagues and Award Recipients (past and present) in celebrating the significant achievements of individual teachers and the MLTAV over 70 years of supporting members and advocating for Languages Education throughout Victoria. It is also an opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Languages Professionals to Languages teaching in Victoria over an extended period, who have significantly influenced the pattern and/or quality of language teaching and learning in Victoria in some beneficial way. We also encourage Single Language Associations to nominate colleagues in the category of active involvement in the work of the MLTAV or a Single Language Teacher’ Association (SLA). In exceptional circumstances, this award may also be made to someone who is not, or has not been and would not normally be expected to be, or to have been a member of the MLTAV of an SLA, or to have contributed directly to the MLTAV.

MLTAV also has a Life Membership Award. If any member wishes to discuss the process for nomination of a Life Member Award, please do not hesitate to contact Kerry O’Connor in the MLTAV Office for further information.

70th Anniversary Award Celebration Registration Fees (includes a 3-course meal, guest speaker TBC, entertainment, non-alcohol beverages (alcoholic beverages to be purchased at own expense):
